We are seeking an experienced Artificial Intelligence Subject Matter Expert (AI SME) to serve as a bridge between cutting-edge AI innovation and workforce transformation. This individual will work closely with IG Labs researchers, AI engineers, mission experts, and instructional designers to ensure that emerging AI capabilities are translated into meaningful learning experiences, workforce development initiatives, and operationally relevant training programs.
 
This is an opportunity to influence not only how AI is developed, but how it is understood, adopted, and employed across the national security community.
 
What You'll Do
  • Serve as the principal AI technical advisor supporting AI education, workforce development, and mission-focused training initiatives.
  • Collaborate with IG Labs researchers and engineers to identify emerging AI technologies and translate them into workforce development opportunities.
  • Help define the skills, competencies, and certification standards required for an AI-ready workforce.
  • Guide the development of curriculum, labs, simulations, and practical exercises focused on real-world AI applications.
  • Provide technical leadership across topics including:
     
    • Generative AI
    • Large Language Models (LLMs)
    • Agentic AI
    • Machine Learning
    • Deep Learning
    • Data Science
    • AI Governance and Responsible AI
    • MLOps and AI Operations
    • Cybersecurity and AI
       
  • Ensure training content remains aligned with current industry advancements, government AI strategies, and operational mission requirements.
  • Develop mission-relevant use cases demonstrating how AI can be applied to solve real-world challenges.
  • Support AI demonstrations, workshops, technical exchanges, and customer engagements.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and provide recommendations regarding future workforce development and training priorities.
  • Contribute thought leadership supporting IntelliGenesis' AI strategy, innovation initiatives, and workforce transformation efforts.
     
Required Qualifications:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, advanced analytics, or related technical fields.
  • Demonstrated experience applying AI technologies to operational, mission, research, or business challenges.
  • Experience with large language models, retrieval augmented generation (RAG), agentic AI architectures, AI orchestration frameworks, or autonomous systems.
  • Familiarity with Responsible AI, AI governance, and emerging federal AI policies.
  • Strong understanding of modern AI methodologies, architectures, and workflows.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
     
Desired Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, or Federal Government organizations.
  • Experience developing technical training, certifications, workshops, or workforce development programs.
  • Published research, conference presentations, patents, or demonstrated contributions to AI innovation initiatives.

Compensation Range: $185,000 -  $215,000

Compensation ranges encompass a total compensation package and are a general guideline only and not intended as a guaranteed and/or implied final compensation or salary for this job opening. Determination of official compensation or salary relies on several different factors including, but not limited to: level of position, complexity of job responsibilities, geographic location, candidate’s scope of relevant work experience, educational background, certifications, contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and alignment with local market data.

Our compensation includes other indirect financial components designed to support employees’ total well-being, which should be considered when evaluating our competitive benefits package.
